Great Ocean Road and Philip Island

September 2007

Second part of our trip in Victoria Australia. We joined the Philip Island and Great Ocean Road tour in two consecutive days. Almost 800 kilometers covered in just two days!

Phillip Island Wildlife & Penguin Experience

This tour is the ultimate experience for those interested in Australian animals and our beautiful Phillip Island. We take a look "behind the scenes" where rangers will talk to us in depth about some of our native animals and heritage spots on Phillip Island. We encounter some Australian animals, watch the pelicans feeding, get close to koalas, enjoy historic Churchill Island, view the Nobbies and the magnificent coastline and learn all about the Little Penguins. Finally watch the world famous Little Penguins waddle up the beach from an exclusive area with our own personal ranger - a perfect finish to a fantastic day.

Ateneo de Manila - The Church of the Gesù

I went back to Ateneo today to get my Nonoy Baclao jersey for tomorrow's game. God I miss Ateneo. Here are some shots I took earlier this year of The Church of the Gesù. Good luck to the Blue Eagles tomorrow. See you all afterwards at Gesù. One Big Fight!

The Church of the Gesù is a landmark church of the Ateneo de Manila University campus in the Philippines. Designed by Jose Pedro Recio and Carmelo Casas (both alumni of the Ateneo de Manila High School), the edifice’s massive triangular structure symbolizes the Holy Trinity, as well as the three-fold mission and vision of the school. Its shape and design is also meant to suggest the outstretched arms of the Sacred Heart, and the traditional Filipino bahay kubo. The site has a total area of 10,200 square meters, and a seating capacity of 1,000 persons. The church is situated on Sacred Heart Hill, a small hill overlooking Bellarmine Field and believed to be the highest point in Loyola Heights. In its immediate vicinity are the dor...

Scheveningen, Netherlands

April 8, 2008

It's been a long time since my last post. This is my real first panorama. I was really inspired by a friend's panorama the other day.

This was taken during our final day at Europe at Scheveningen Pier. Scheveningen is the most popular seaside resort of the Netherlands. The beach is very popular during summer and wintertime. Actually my tito mentioned that during the peak months, people from France, Germany and the other surrounding countries go to Scheveningen just to enjoy the beach.

Kota Kinabalu: My Favorites

July 9-14, 2007

These are my favorites from our trip in Kota Kinabalu.

Relaxing at the Sunset Bar - Shangrila, Tanjung Aru

Tanjung Aru is one of the most popular spots to relax while enjoying good food. A special attraction is the spectacular sunset between 6.00 and 6.15 pm." Tanjung Aru's beach is a long stretch of white sand lined with palm and casuarina trees. Only 6km from Kota Kinabalu town centre, or 10km from the airport, it is very popular among locals as a weekend getaway with families and friends

Sutera Harbour Resort

Sutera Harbour Resort, a hotel property located in the heart of the capital of Sabah, Kota Kinabalu on the shore near Manukan Island, comprises the 5-Star luxury hotel accommodation of the city-style The Pacific Sutera and resort-style The Magellan Sutera.

The 384-acre Resort features a total of 956 hotel rooms and world class facilities like the 27-hole championship golf course, Sabah's top marina and one of the most beautiful harbours...

Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia: Part 1

July 9-14, 2007

After our wedding, we flew to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. We spent 5 fantastic days at Shangri-la Tanjung Aru. There aren't a lot of things to do in the city except maybe go around the various resort hotels. So that's what we did, and of course we also ate a lot of food.

Last year, the only way to go to Kota Kinabalu was to fly via Air Asia at the Macapagal Airport in Clark. Last I heard, Cebu Pacific also added Kota as one of their international destinations.

More to come in the next set.

Located on the northwest coast of the island of Borneo facing the South China Sea and Tunku Abdul Rahman Park on one side, and with Mount Kinabalu in the background, Kota Kinabalu sprawls for kilometers along the coast and towards inland. With an estimated population of 532,129 in the city and 7...

Landscape Series: Nasugbu

July 2, 2008

Went with some landscape photographers to Nasugbu Batangas. It was actually my first time to shoot some serious landscape with other photographers. Thanks to Edwin Martinez for this opportunity.

Nasugbu is a 1st class municipality in the province of Batangas, Philippines. Located at 14:05:51N (14.0975) latitude and 120:35:56E (120.5988) longitude. Nasugbu is bounded on the north by the municipalities of Maragondon, Magallanes and Alfonso in the province of Cavite; on the east by the Batangas municipalities of Laurel, Calaca and Balayan; on the south by the Batangas municipalities of Lian and Tuy; and on the west by the South China Sea. It is the largest town in Western Batangas with a land area of 276.33 km².

Entering the town proper via the national highway, one passes fields of sugar cane, corn and rice fields, hills and mountains. The terrain slopes downwards to the South China Sea. Because of its rolling terrain and coastline location, agriculture (sugarca...

The Byodo-In Temple is a non-denominational Buddhist temple located on the island of O'ahu in Hawai'i at the Valley of the Temples. At 47-200 Kahekili Highway, the Byodo-In Temple is a replica of a 900-year-old Buddhist place of worship at Uji in Kyoto prefecture of Japan. Inside the Byodo-In Temple is a nine-foot (3 m) Lotus Buddha, the largest wooden Buddha carved in over 900 years. It is covered in gold and lacquer. Outside is a three-ton, brass peace bell. Surrounding the temple are large koi ponds that cover a total of two acres (8,000 m²). Around those ponds are lush Japanese gardens set against a backdrop of towering cliffs of the Ko'olau mountains. Sparrows are often seen fluttering about and playing in the garden trees while peacocks strut about displaying their be...
